Charity Achievements
LEJOG 2021
The RDB LEJOG charity event inspired the creation of RDB Cycle!
In 2019, RDB Concepts set themselves a huge charity challenge. A group of amateur cyclists began training with the aim to complete the mammoth 1000 mile ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats in August 2020.
Unfortunately, as you may have noticed, the Covid-19 pandemic hit the UK in March 2020 and what started as a 2-week lockdown suddenly turned into much more.
The event had to be postponed and it wasn’t until January of this year that the team were hopeful enough to set a new date of August 2021. Along the way, they picked up a couple of new team members and ended up with a group of 9 amateur cyclists – some with only a few months to train for the big event.
After several months of hard training and lots (and lots) of cycle talk in the virtual office, the team set off on the event with the support of Sport Tours International. With a lot of hard work, the entire team pulled through and successfully completed their 1000 mile journey over a gruelling 12 days! By the end, £26,000 had been raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.

What's next?
Since we started the RDB Cycle Club in the wake of a huge charity challenge, we aim as a club to continue to give back to the community and support some amazing charities.
We plan to host one charity event every year – something that everyone can participate in but is a big challenge!
Currently, the club is open to suggestions for our first official charity event which will be the 2022 challenge. All ideas can be dropped in the ‘Proposed Charity Event 2022’ text channel in the Discord server. The committee will vote at the first committee meeting to determine what the event will be.
We will then put a vote to all members to decide what charity you would like to raise money for! This will be done through a poll on our Discord server, so will be open to all members.
Club Achievements
Carten100 2021
On the 18th September Phill and Graham completed the annual Carten100 from Cardiff to Tenby, covering 109.7 miles with a climb of 5,305 ft.
NC500 2021
On 15th October, Phill and Graham will be setting off to complete the North Coast 500 over 5 days!
