Data Privacy Notice

Introduction

This document provides you with information about how we are handling, or are intending to handle, your personal information.

RDB Cycle is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and complying with the principles of applicable data protection laws. This notice sets out how any personal data we collect from or about you will be handled by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data.

The data controller of the personal data referred to in this policy is the British Cycling Federation of Stuart Street, Manchester, Lancashire, M11 4DQ. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number Z1066209.

The data processor of the personal data referred to in this policy is RDB Cycle of RDB Concepts, The Old Vicarage, Castle Donington, DE74 2JB.

Processing and Use of your Personal Data

When you become a member of, or renew your membership with RDB Cycle, you will be registered for an online account with British Cycling. We will provide British Cycling with your personal data which they will use to enable access to an online portal for you (called My Dashboard) on the British Cycling website. British Cycling will use your personal data in accordance with its Privacy Notice which can be accessed at https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/staticcontent/info–Privacy-Policy-0 . British Cycling will contact you to invite you to sign into and update your dashboard (which, amongst other things, allows you to set and amend your privacy settings). If you have any questions about the continuing privacy of your personal data when it is shared with British Cycling, please contact [email protected].

As a club member your information may be shared on the club website, social media pages or in emails sent by the club. This data will only be shared in the event that either you are a club volunteer, have participated in a race or challenge event or have recorded a major achievement. This data will be limited to your name, race results (if applicable) and details of your achievement. Limited further information about you may be included; for example, what kind of race you have participated in.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions and requirements, we are required to take a register for each club ride in case we need to provide details to Track and Trace. We will be taking names and telephone numbers of any participants. The data will be destroyed after a period of 2 weeks.

Data protection laws allow for the sharing of personal data where this is necessary for certain permitted purposes, such as in the interests of public health. Disclosing relevant contact details to a member of the ‘Track and Trace’ or ‘Test and Protect’ team will not be a breach of the GDPR.

Data Retention

RDB Cycle will hold information about you only for as long as we need it and only for the purpose for which we collected it.

If RDB Cycle has executed your membership on your behalf through the British Cycling portal, CRCC will remove your details whenever you choose to cancel or not renew your membership.
